The town of Goodna, Queensland Australia, is located in southwestern Queensland. In 1851, James Holmes, a New Zealander, moved to Goodna to establish a mission and set up a school there. In 1852, Mr. Holmes purchased 2,000 acres from a landowner, Dr. Stephen Simpson, and began farming and living in a slab hut near the mouth of Woogaroo Creek. The following year, he acquired another 640 acres of land, along with a primary school.
The Goodna community formed a golf club in 1924, choosing a site next to a railway line, facing the direction of Brisbane. The course is located west of the former racecourse. In 1977, Goodna became the site of the Ipswich motorway, bringing vehicular commuting to Goodna. The town also has a drive-in shopping centre, located away from the Ipswich motorway, which contains a supermarket and 48 stores.
In 1862, a post office was established in Goodna. By the end of 1864, Goodna had its own telegraph link, and the town also had a Congregational church and a primary school. The railway line from Ipswich to Brisbane also passed through Goodna, and the first sod was turned in 1873. Goodna has become one of the more popular destinations in the region.

Located in Goodna, Queensland, the Goodna Rsl Club is a local institution that caters to the needs of the community. The Goodna RSL offers food for business meetings, sales meetings, and conferences. The club also hosts weddings, engagements, and hen’s parties. It also offers a range of recreational facilities for a fun weekend. In addition to its food offerings, Goodna also has a gaming room and a TAB. The club promotes responsible service of alcohol.
